Welcome, Love!
Let’s be real for a second. We are in a season of life where our knees might pop when we stand up, but our bank accounts shouldn’t be cracking under pressure.
This month, we are diving deep into Faith-Filled Financial Organizing Habits for This Season. Every single month, like clockwork, the bills show up—often acting like uninvited houseguests who refuse to leave. With the current prices of gas and groceries (honestly, a carton of eggs feels like a luxury purchase right now), it can feel exhausting trying to stretch a budget that’s already pulled tight.
If you are a woman over 40 navigating financial hardship, staring at your bank app and wondering, “Lord, what do I do next?”—I want you to take a deep breath. You are not alone, you are not forgotten, and this is exactly where your turnaround begins.
Giving When You’re Financially Wrecked
Back in 2020, I hit a wall. I was trying to reorganize my finances to build a better, healthier lifestyle, but my math wasn't mathing. I was sick and tired of doing it my way because, spoiler alert, my way was keeping me broke!
That’s when I stumbled across a radical concept from author Catherine Ponder (famous for The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity). She taught that when you don’t have money, that is the best time to give. I’ll admit, my first thought was, “Ma’am, are you well? I have lint in my wallet.” I didn't understand it. It felt mathematically impossible. But out of sheer desperation, I decided to do it God’s way.
Here is the bold truth I discovered: Tithing and giving aren't about the dollar amount; they are about alignment. When you give God the first 10% (or whatever He places on your heart to give), you are making a bold, spiritual declaration. You are telling the universe, “God is my ultimate source of provision. I trust Him, and I absolutely refuse to build wealth without Him.” As the scripture commands in Proverbs 3:9 (NKJV): "Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase."
Starting with your first fruits—not whatever pennies are leftover at the end of the month—is the ultimate wealth-building habit. It miraculously softens fear, shatters scarcity thinking, and opens the heavy door to financial discipline.
From Scarcity to Stewardship
Once I aligned my giving, everything shifted. I became a fiercely good steward of what God placed in my hands because, as Deuteronomy 8:18 reminds us, "It is He who gives you power to get wealth." (And remember, true wealth is peace of mind, love, health, and money!)
What happened next? The bill collectors started ghosting me—in the best way possible. I sat down with a financial expert at my bank who told me I needed to use the dreaded "B-word": A Budget. At first, I hated it. It felt restrictive. But eventually, I embraced it and created a custom Budget and Savings Tracker. This simple tool changed my life. It helped me track my spending, aggressively pay off credit card debt, and build "sinking funds" so unexpected expenses no longer felt like emergencies.
I didn't stop there. I fed my mind with powerful financial literacy. Books like Fixing the Money Thing by Gary Keesee and The Automatic Millionaire by David Bach became my survival guides. I realized that getting your money right isn't just a math problem; it's a spiritual and strategic battle.

The Adversity Warning
Let me shoot straight with you: In everything we do—especially reorganizing our finances and breaking generational curses—you have to put in the work. You must put your blinders on and stay laser-focused. Do not let anyone (or anything) derail your financial goals.
Why? Because the minute you decide to do something different with your money, adversity is going to knock on your door. You'll save your first $500, and suddenly your car will need a $450 repair. That’s not a sign to quit; that’s the enemy trying to test your resolve!
Keep going. Set your budgeting goals, build a micro-strategy, and knock them out one by one.
Yes, Even if You’re Lacking Money!
If you are experiencing financial hardship right now and feel entirely overwhelmed, do not panic. Here is your clear, bold, faith-filled action plan for this week:
Take the First Fruit Challenge: Look at your income this week. Before you pay a single bill or buy groceries, give a portion to God first. Even if it's $5 or $10. Break the spirit of lack by proving to yourself that you are a giver.
Face the Numbers: Print out your last 30 days of bank statements. Grab a highlighter. Highlight every unnecessary expense (yes, including that drive-thru coffee). You can't fix what you refuse to look at.
Define ONE Micro-Goal: Don't try to fix everything today. Set one tiny goal for this week. Example: "I will save $20 this week," or "I will call one creditor to negotiate a lower payment."
Set Up a Tracking System: Start using my Budget and Savings Tracker. Write every single dollar down. Tell your money where to go so you don't have to wonder where it went.
If you found this post helpful or exactly the kick in the pants you needed, share it with a friend or relative who needs to get their finances in order. It’s better to do it now than to keep stressing about it later!
May you be incredibly blessed, highly favored, and fiercely focused this coming week.
Stay tuned for more financial organizing tips coming next week.
Stay bold, stay faithful, and Tootles!
