Making Decisions

Where you presently are today is the result of a decision that you have made either a day, week, month, or year ago.  Whether this seems true or not, you have decided to be exactly where you are. Your actions have been following your decisions all along. No one else has decided or acted for you. You are 100% responsible for the decisions that you make in your life. This is the hardest thing to accept for many people who are out there.

Like many individuals, when I was younger , I thought that I was invincible.  I didn't have a care in the world until I graduated college and began looking for a career. Throughout my tenure I was given uplifting and informative advice. Some advise I took, and others I took with a  grain of salt. I knew that the years ahead heavily depended on the decisions that I made before graduating. So, I carefully examined my options, consulted with fellow colleagues and made my plans to start job hunting. Within a few short weeks I obtained a position that would launch my career within the health care industry and provided me with a plethora of skills that I utilize today.

Who knows what would have happened if I decided to lounge around and wait for an opportunity to come to me. In Proverbs 21v.5 of the Holy Bible reads, "the plans of the diligent lead to profit , as surely as haste leads to poverty" (NIV).

It is important to remember that when you have a decision to make, take the time to exam your options, but do not let too much time pass before making a decision. Opportunities come, but some do not come more often than others.  Also, do your research before making a move. A well thought out plan and decision, is a successful one.
