What Are You Asking For?

What are you asking for?

I have listened to multiple conversations of individuals who ask for more money, a better job, a spouse, more clothes, or simply great health. What are you asking for on a daily basis? My other question is, what are you not asking for?

I recently had a conversation with my husband and he conveyed something very interesting to me. He indicated that,  "true failure is when you don't ask for what you want or you give up before you decide to ask." This interesting statement lead me down a path to further explore the concept of "asking".

Years ago, I was afraid to ask for anything. My fear was simply being rejected or hearing the words - no! As young children, the word "no" is said quite often.  No! - don't touch that, or no, you can't have this! No, became one of my first words until it became a part of my regular vocabulary.

I remember listening to my Sunday School teacher in the early summer of 19.... She read from the King James Version of the Holy Bible, Matthew 7:7 which reads "ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you will find".  Since the Bible reads, "ask and it shall be given to you," then why not ask for what you want?

It is crucial to know that your words, or lack of words is helping to shape your life. When someone says I don't have, and refrain from asking for abundance, it's like asking for lack or mediocrity. Your
mouth is one of the most powerful tools that you have.  What comes out of your mouth, comes to fruition in your life. If you need proof, monitor what you say, and then examine your life.

It is very important to know how to ask. I was taught to say the Lords Prayer (Matthew 6: 5-13) first. If you are harboring any anger or ill will toward anyone, ask for forgiveness and move on. Furthermore, ask God to show you the path that He has set out for your life and then take action. Note that in the text it does not say, ask and you might receive or ask and someday you'll receive. It reads, "ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find". How much more confidence can you get when it is written, "you will receive,"  That looks definite to me.

The question now is, what will you ask for going forward?  If what you are asking for positively benefits you, write down the desires of your heart and ask for it. Along with it, it is always a good idea to ask for understanding, wisdom and guidance as well. Sometimes we ask for things that may not benefit us, and if you ask for understanding as to "why" then God will help guide you on a more beneficial path to attain a victorious outcome.

Remember, fear in itself can only cripple you if you let it. If you ask, and you get a yes or a no, then you have received your answer. If you don't ask, then, you will never know what greatness could have come out from you boldly asking for what you desire.
